Cost: Participants on the Programme are fully funded but we do charge an admin fee of €200

Competition: we vet participants to ensure no conflict of interest and give priority to first booking if one presents itself.

Focus Areas

The skills development element of the LEAP programme centres on workshop and seminar training sessions. These provide participants with the knowledge required to develop an investor ready business plan and also practical ad-vice on key issues facing start-ups. The shared office space includes a desk, chair, phone, broadband and file storage. The ‘trainers’ are drawn from a pool of practitioners , academics and experts. Case studies including presentations and interactive sessions with experienced entrepreneurs and business managers based in the region form a key element of the programme.

How many days per week will I be on-site?

Training is usually 1-2 days per week with ad-hoc mentorship sessions (1 to 1 ½ hrs. duration)
You also receive office incubation space as part of the programme & many participants choose to spend the remaining days, researching and working on their venture.

Setting up a Business with the support of LEAP-what level of commitment is required?

This programme is heavily funded and we request that all participants are 100% committed to setting up a business, subject to their own due diligence on the venture.

Are there any pre-requisites for the programme?

It is essential that applicants are committed. All applicants are subject to the overarching application process- outlined above.

Is there a fee for the programme?

The programme is funded by the NFC and this covers all training/ mentorship support/ Office space/ Broadband/ Telephone etc. but we do charge an administration fee of 200 Euro per participant.

What is the schedule like?

LEAP will commence in September.  The programme is broken into 2 (six month) phases whereby you receive the bulk of your training/mentorship in phase 1 & avail of on-going support in phase 2 which we regard as the implementation stage.

Will I be based in the NFC or Croom?

LEAP is run in both locations with participants and managers working collaboratively supporting enterprise development. There are limited places in both locations and it is a competitive process. A centre is assigned after the interview stage, however we will endeavour to take your location preference into consideration.
